Day 2 – Crafting
The twelve days of Craft City is a series of articles made to explain the major functionalities of the game twelve days before the official launch. These articles are open to all and will still be available after the game’s release date.
One of your main tools is the Workshop. This is where you can progress through creation of objects by your industry. The workshop is split into three different trees each representing a type of resource that can be generated by buildings. These are Wood, Mineral and Electronic.
On each level of a tree, objects can be crafted by providing the right materials to your craftsmen. If you ask them to create enough of a certain type, they will master the creation process thus giving them the skills to progress further.
Don’t worry as if you decide to focus on another tree at some point in your progression, workers won’t forget what they have already learned. You can easily ask them to switch back and forth between the different types of object without any problem.
It’s up to you to train your craftsmen properly. Some say they prefer to specialise into a tree and be the kings of it. Others prefer to be more like generalists and be able to answer all types of needs when they arise. In the end, it’s only a matter of who can help the town grow bigger and create a better place to live.
