Day 4 – Citizen requests

The twelve days of Craft City is a series of articles made to explain the major functionalities of the game twelve days before the official launch. These articles are open to all and will still be available after the game’s release date.

During the construction of your neighborhood, citizens often ask for help to solve their problem. They can be as small as helping them gather woods for the coming winter to set up a big competition with prizes for each participant. Those requests are the core of your progression towards growing your local community.

Fortunately, you are not alone and city clerks are there to help. They can be sent to answer those requests by meeting with the concerned citizens and handling each case appropriately.

To properly do their work, the clerks require specific materials. These materials are bound by the nature of the request and should be handled with care. As an example, to furnish a classroom, a clerk might ask for tables and chairs. On the other hand, to set up a boat cruise around the continent, the clerk will surely require boats. It’s your job to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

By completing these requests, you are rewarded of course. Based on the difficulty of what was asked by the citizen, the end reward is adjusted to compensate for your efforts. Everyone’s a winner in the end!

One thing to be aware of is that your clerks are human beings, not robots. You have to give them a little break between their work shifts to prevent exhaustion. At every new shift, new employees come in to answer requests.

A true leader is someone who thinks highly of the people who work for him/her. Be that leader and keep you citizens happy to create the best neighborhood around.
